Complaints over wedding services surge as Covid-19 pandemic disrupts couples’ plans for the happy day

The number of complaints made to Hong Kong’s consumer watchdog about wedding services surged last year as social-distancing rules, dining bans and travel restrictions threw up hurdles for couples who planned to tie the knot during the coronavirus pandemic.The Consumer Council received 233 complaints about wedding services, with more than half of the problems related to banquet arrangements and a third to photography services.
